For the love of animals...

I strive to capture the essence and personality of the individual animal in my artwork. It is important to me that when doing a pet commission, I am able to produce a realistic interpretation of your much-loved friend. In the case of a commission of a wild animal, I aim to show off it's unique characteristics and beauty.

My medium of choice to bring the animal to life is pastel. As pastel is fragile, the artwork requires careful handling and touching the art should be avoided (see “Framing” below for more information). Depending on the subject, coloured pencil can be an option, but this would need to be discussed at time of placing the order.

Framing (not included)

Pastel artworks require careful handling and framing due to the nature of the medium. I generally lightly spray with a fixative, but even so, the pastel can smudge and pastel dust particles may still fall from it even when framed. Framing behind glass is essential for pastel works, and it is advisable to use spacers and matting. Your local framing experts will be able to advise you. I highly recommend using UltraVue® glass (if available), which provides UV protection and has amazing anti-reflective properties which show-cases the details of the painting. It is more expensive than regular glass, but so worthwhile!

Copyright of Finished Artwork

As the artist, I shall retain copyright and may use digital copies of the artwork in books, for promotion, prints, calendars etc. The customer has the rights to the original illustration only, and may not make / sell / use digital any other copies of this artwork (in any format). Artwork not paid for in full within 20 days of completion, will be retained by me for re-sale or use as I deem appropriate, and the customer will lose all rights to this artwork and the deposit paid (unless another agreement has been entered into).

Once an order has been discussed and accepted, payments for deposits and final payments on commissions or direct orders can be made via Stripe or Paypal (using a credit or debit card). For NZ orders, payment can be made directly via bank transfer. Links will be sent once orders are finalised.

Customer Reviews

Megan Schischka (Jan 14) - I am incredibly lucky to have had the privilege of Anne painting my gorgeous boy. Can you believe that this is only the second horse she has painted? From looking at this I would have though that she has been painting them for years. She has captured every aspect of him PERFECTLY, especially that beautiful eye of his. I don't know if I want to publicly admit this Anne, but I almost (/possible did) shed a tear last night when I got this out again at home. I cannot emphasize how much I appreciate it. Thank you so much. I can highly recommend Anne to anyone wanting a picture of their four-legged friend (or anything for that matter).
